I got to see ALICIA KEYS up close!! LIKE REALLY CLOSE!

this is me ----- that's her!!! THAT CLOSE!

Thanks to Singfest 08 for inviting Alicia Keys over! Also, thanks to God who gave me a chance to see her really really close up. Initially I was behind (like 15th standing up row). Along the way, got people who can't survive the PAIN and SUFFERING of the squeezeeness and the oxygenless situation. Thus, many were carried out. The blessing in disguise was that we got to move forward.

At least, I got to move really all the way to the FIRST row!!!!!!! The journey of getting to the first row is MADNESS! I think I can recall and make a log out of it...

Sunday, 11 AM
- Went to the bus stop to go over to Kovan MRT station
- Excited and anxious because the ticket is not in hand

Sunday, 12PM
- Reach Dhoby Ghaut station
- Went to Plaza Singapura to withdraw money
- Ate at KFC (ordered the Variety Value Meal)

Sunday, 12.45PM
- Walking towards the pick-up point for shuttle
- Realize the shuttle just left
- Took cab to Fort Canning Park entrance

Sunday, 1PM
- The ticket seller have not reach
- Queue up in the normal lane (the queue is already maddening!)
- Bird poop fell in front of where I am sitting (SHEESH)

Sunday, 2PM
- Main gate still not open
- Getting bored and annoyed

Sunday, 2.30PM
- Gate open
- Queue moving
- Realize still got tickets selling at $253 (I got cheated?! Stupid sistic and that person!)
- Trade in food coupons ($40)
- Bought 2 Cokes

Sunday, 2.35PM
- Queuing again at the Main Door
- Start to be squeezy as there were no real line

Sunday, 3PM
- Supposed to start first gig but still no news
- Queue getting more crowded

Sunday, 3.30PM
- Still standing and queuing
- Start to think that the organizers are really annoying!
- LATE LATE LATE!

Sunday, 3.45PM
- DOOR FINALLY OPEN
- Ran inside, down the stairs, and more down the stairs
- Rush to the FRONT
- Sat down on the free Starhub Plastics

Sunday, 4PM
- FINALLY, first gig starts: Stacie Orrico
- Fun at first, then don't know the song - BORED

Sunday, 4.45PM
- End of Orrico
- Setting up for the next one takes a LONG time

Sunday, 5PM
- Second gig: Jamie Scott & The Town
- Thought he's cute, but BORING
- Got a chance to sit a while
- Went out to buy a drink

Sunday, 5.30PM
- Painstakingly went up the slope and down the slope
- Bought 2 Cokes and 1 Mineral Water
- and 1 Kebab

Sunday, 5.45PM
- End of Scott
- Setting Up again
- More people squeezing forward

Sunday, 6PM
- Third gig: ONE REPUBLIC!!!
- Crowded! Can't sit anymore!
- THEY ROCK!

Sunday, 6.45PM
- End of One Republic
- People crowding the front even more!

Sunday, 7PM
- Fourth gig: PANIC AT THE DISCO
- Found that they're hilarious
- Don't like them a lot though
- Bored, but can't sit
- More inconsiderate people pushing forward

Sunday, 7.45Pm
- End then set up.
- bla bla bla

Sunday, 8PM
- Fifth gig: Jason MRAZ!
- LOVE him! A very relaxing groove!
- Love the horns section, especially!
- no more SUN! =p
- people start to move out

Sunday, 8.45PM
- LEVIS FASHION SHOW
- Not important at all
- Gay models (some are ok la..but got one soooo annoying! NEVER SMILE!)

Sunday, 9.30PM
- Sixth gig: Rick Astley
- Only know 2 out of 6 songs
- BORING and such OLDIE!
- Weird girls started to throw undergarments at him (stoop)
- I was at the 5th standing row now

Sunday, 10.15PM
- End of sixth gig (FINALLY!)
- Setting up for the next gig
- Apparently the set up was SUPER LONG!
- NO SENSE OF URGENCY AT ALL
- People start to crowd in for the next big thing!

Sunday, 10.45PM
- SEVENTH GIG: PUSSYCAT DOLLS (PCD)
- They're so cool and so near! =p
- Dancing and voice very very incredible!
- 2 major props: stairs and FAN!
- the fan is funny. made their hair swoosh all the time. haha.

Sunday, 11.20PM
- End of PCD
- Setting up for the next one
- People crowd the front even more!
- Many people 'fainted' and went out along the way.
- Wishing someone would go out. Someone in front of me =p.
- Saw Alicia's piano!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday, 12AM
- ALICIA KEYS APPEARED!!!!
- so excited for the first few songs!
- My wish was granted! 2 person in front of me went out.
- I push myself to the first row! YAYNESS!!!!!!!
- Alicia went to my side of the stage!
- I scream and put my hands up
- SHE SMILED BACK AT ME! HAHA! *bouncing mode*
- Dance and sing and scream all the way!

Monday, 1AM
- End of Singfest 08
- Oh, wait, people chanting "One More Alicia!"
- I join la! FOR SURE!
- Alicia appeared once more singing "No One"
- Join in with her "Ooooooo" part

Monday, 1.15AM
- FINALLY IT'S OVER!
- So excited that I can't help but scream "THANK YOU GOD!"
- Bought 3 Cokes and 1 Red Bull with extra coupons

Monday, 1.30AM
- Stuck with no Cab
- Calling and calling and can't get through
- Finally, walked down to the Cathay, but got cab before crossing!

Monday, 2AM
- Reach home
- Shower
- SLEEP with itches all over

Monday, 6AM
- Woke up and decided to not go to school
- Sleep again

Monday, 10AM
- Woke up and wash hair
- still feeling excited

Monday, 11AM
- Went to doctor to check on my skin allergy
- Found out allergic to GRASS (stoop)

I only have 3 complaints to be made to the organizers. The complaints are really to help future events to be more organize and enjoyable for all parties.

1. SMOKING SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE CONCERT AREA!
- Remember, we are squeezed like tunas down there! The cig butt and smoke can harm us and kill us!

2. EVENT SHOULD START ON TIME!
- Imagine 3000 people squeezing in one area for at least 10 HOURS! Please start on time so we can at least breathe from time to time!

3. FOOD AND BEVERAGE LOCATION IS SO FAR AWAY FROM MAIN STAGE!
- hellloooo!! Some of us are dying of thirst and can't leave our spot too long! At least provide WATER nearer to the main area!


This is most-likely to be my FIRST and LAST outdoor concerts EVER! I will not sacrifice my body especially feet and my $ for such an unorganized event. I can't stand people pushing around and can't stand having inconsiderate people dancing and jumping right when everyone is squeezing! It's because of Alicia Keys and One Republic I'm actually surviving! The sacrifice paid off when I got to see Alicia from the First Row! MIDAS PROMOTIONS, DO SOMETHING about this havoc please!!!
