Last minute and END OF YEAR 1!!

I got so many things to update....

But most importantly,

I'M GOING HOME! TO THE PLACE WHERE I BELONG!

hehehe... yeah, that's it... i'm going home to indonesia later at 8.40AM.. uh huh...i'm suppose to be sleeping now...but well, i still need to do one last thing..

UH HUH

I NEED TO DECLARE THAT TODAY IS MY LAST DAY AS AN NIE FRESHIE!!! i'll be year 2 like in 3 months time! hehehe....

YES,,,

firstly, i need to submit my FINAL paper to Ms Charlene aka my AAU 104 tutor... the nice thing about her is that i can submit my essay through email... as i said in previous blog, it's 2000-2500 words... i manage to get 2358 words...not bad huh?

anw, submitting together with my fellow collegue...we are soooo going to celebrate our final minute of being NIE freshie (sort of)... if not because of that stooofiiidd practicum....

anw,, i shall be happy about the practicum too.. i wan to be posted in a school that offers drama in the curriculum! preferably, MAYFLOWER PRIMARY SCHOOL in ANG MO KIO...yeah! and of course, i need to wish to be posted with my fellow NIE colleagues...i dun wan to be alone....oh cmon,, how can a foreigner be alone in nowhere land? ok, shall stop about practicum..

STOOFID technology || killed ALS!

STUPID TECHNOLOGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOSH! BEFORE THIS ENTRY, I WROTE LIKE A 2000 WORDS OR MORE BLOG ENTRY AND THEN IT GOT DELETED!!!!! DUMB BLOGGER! STUPID BLOGGER! I HAAATTTEE TECHNOLOGY WHEN IT IS ACTING UP ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anw, to summarize my previous NON-existing blog,

I HAD FINALLY FINISHED MY ALS 101 MODULE! THE RESEARCH PAPER IS OVER! I CAN RELAX NOW!

i drafted it like about 5x or more.. oh well... to give my very best lah... sooo....

i would like to thank those who had prayed for me,

my family - angel esp, for putting up with me LOUD noises of my typing at 2am!

Mr L "psycho"- who had helped me BIG TIMES esp with reviewing my paper, APA style, lending me the book, review again the day before i submit, preparing my presentations, and wasting time to go down to hougang from eunos!

Darlz, for helping me do the CHARTS,being my interviewee, reading through my paper again, calm me down when i'm super panicky, and put up with my complaints because of this stooofiiiidd assignment! hehe..

The Math and Drama students who i interviewed, for time, effort, energy, 'sincerity', willingness, and KIND help!

My tutor aka HER, for letting me flood your email with questions and problems. hehe..also, your feedback, care, concern, and 1 liner reply..haiz..you played MAJOR role this time! =)

To my classmates, for listening to my presentations tho it's super crappy esp the last one, and your feedbacks.

To my friends who listened to my story and also sharing your story, THANKS!

Last, but not least, to GOD for helping me to finally end this module. Thank you for giving me patience and perseverance and diligence. Also, for guiding me and helping me during my test and doing my research paper. it won't be my best if it wasnt for You! all Glory belongs to You! all i do is for You! Thank you GOD for giving me the best people around me to support me. most importantly, thank you GOD for you grace and faithfulness! it's truly incredible! God, You know my desires. You know how much i want to SCORE for this module. Please, Lord, give me a GREAT grade for this module. I've done my best and that's all i can give. Thank you!

so now i have only 2 more exams to go! both from AAU 104 - contemporary theater. Basically, it's just a 2500 words essay and a group performance! again, i'm stuck with my essay coz i put a lot of effort to the group performance and the research. now that the research is gone, i shall set aside 1 day just to finish up the essay before i go back to Indo! WOoHOO! happy!!

Exams UPDATE

orite..

as i said in my previous post, i got tons of exams (or what someone called "papers" or "assignments" - to me, it's all part of END ASSESSMENT aka EXAMS..)

anw, i'm not to debate about that..i'm here to inform u that....

2 EXAMS DOWN & 4 more to go!!!

Oooohhhhh yeah! happy happy! but then, come to think of it, it's still not the time for me to be HAPPY yet.. coz the other 3 exams are like

"khabooommm"!!!

requires lots of my precious time and energy! hee..

1. Drama Teaching Demonstrations ~ Thursday

2. Academic Research Paper ~ next Monday

3. Group Performance ~ next Friday

4. Essay Assignment ~ next next Friday

well, # 1 can still manage to handle. finish already, just need few touch ups.

# 2 just needs practice. i have 1 day to practice..SHucKS!

for # 3, HmM, i'm searching for JAvanese soundtrack. anyone have it? also, i'm still creating scenes in my head to direct this play..how do u stage it?!?! stage wayang!! anyone? help?

and SIGH, # 4, lousiest assignment ever..like 2000-2500 words?!?!?! must be kidding me! haaa..i havent done anything but it's due like in no time! shall start doing it like now! got 3 topics to choose from, but i'm tellin u, NOT EASY!!

sheesh.

anw, that's about it..i'm really praying for GREAT grades..lets say...

Phantom of the Opera Experience

Ah, yes, i forgot to update my blog about THE BEST MOMENT DURING EXAM PERIOD!

very important......

WOOHOOO~~

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

is like the COOLEST, MOST ELABORATE, SOPHISTICATED, AWESOME, FANTASTIC, and most importantly MY FAVORITE MUSICAL OF ALLLLL TIMES!

I don't need to tell what the story is about because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't watch it! IT'S A MUST WATCH OK! Not at home with TV and DVD, but in the THEATERS! I mean, GO FOR THE LIVE MUSICAL! I know it's really costly, but hey, IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT!

The TICKET --

The SET and COSTUME:

- I TOTALLY love the chandelier! I want one in my own house! LOL..

- I love the "Beyond the Lake" scene! WHy? because the whole "lake" effect is SOOOO real! With smoke machine/ dry ice and great lighting, it's enough to make the lake believable!

- COSTUMING, i must comment on this! This is what makes it elaborate especially in the "Staircase of the Opera House" scene ~ singing "Masquerade"! I totally am in Awe (btw, i did hear a roar of "Whoaaa" throughout the Theater when the curtain opened.)

The MUSIC:

- All music is by ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER ~ I'm telling you, I salute him! He's like the greatest composer in the world! I WANT TO SEE HIM! I WANT TO LEARN FROM HIM!
- Lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe

- All of the music is wonderful!! The songs are from the soundtrack:

- "All I Ask of You" is really a romantic song, which I want for my Wedding Day. HAha..
- "Think of Me" is the song that really shows off the actors' skills.
- "Phantom of the Opera" is this upbeat and creating tension song.
- "Angel of Music" is the best song with harmonization.

- In the theater, it is a live music, of course. The orchestra did a great job especialy the Conductor ~ a LADY!

Something new huh?

The Actors and Actresses:

- I must say that they did a JOB WELL DONE! The actress who played Christine Daae, Rebecca Pitcher, is totally commendable! She's gorgeous and CAN sing! I mean, CAN REALLY SING! I love her voice especially in "Think of Me", "All I Ask of You" and "Phantom of the Opera" song. High notes, but she managed to take it flawlessly! Awesome!

- Now, I totally love the PHANTOM! Oh man! He's like my favorite character! Brad Little did a great job in portraying the emotion as well as showing off his skills in singing. In the "Music of the Night", he managed to pull off the HIGHEST NOTE for guys, and yes, HE DID IT SO WELL! He even crawled and run while singing! He's awesome!

- My other favorite character will be Carlotta, played by Pauline Du Plessis. Carlotta has a lot of VIBRATO even when she talks. In the play, she's not a local actress. Therefore, you can really hear the accent. It's awesomely DONE! Anyway, Du Plessis did a great job in singing HIGH NOTES WITH VIBRATO. Love it!

- The rest of the characters are great too. But I must say, the actor who played RAOUL, John Bowles, looks like JIM CARREY! hahaha...random, but true.. Look at this:

Anyway, everything about this play is PERFECT! I love it! There's like no other words to describe this play except AWESOME, GORGEOUS, SPLENDID and everything NICE!

The costumes, the lighting, the curtain and music~ all complement each other! TRULY, a MAGNIFICENT SHOW!

Yes, three of us -- Drama Major Students -- set off to enjoy a break from exam stress to watch PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!

Just some facts to know:

- booked the ticket on Januray 24, 2007 (no discount anymore + it's so crowded)

- decided to buy the tix in Sistic Counter at Raffles City because can't get a good seat Online (luckily we did this. Our seat is the best for all Circle 3 seats coz it's first row and not to side or center. JUST PERFECT!)

- Amandia drives us to Raffles City ~ thanks babe! =) but, Jonathan was there too. Dunno why..haha...

- waited for 2 months before last Wednesday finally came!

- a huge mark of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is in our Organizer/ Planner. haha..

- sang the songs from the soundtrack like TONS OF TIMES and EVERYWHERE we could

- can't sleep before THE DAY (at least, that's me..hehe..too excited!)

- ate dinner at Marina Square Sakae Sushi before the Show

- Amandia forgot to wear something nice (she's on berms n tees)

- rushed off to buy something nice for Amandia to wear ~ landed on this place across S&K in MArina Square (forgot the name!).

- bought a coat dress at $49+ and wear it at that point ~ forgot that the sandals and backpack is still there. hahaha...

- Rushed off to Esplanade, bought the Program Book at $25 and took our seat ~ take lots of pics too

- During Intermission, went to queue for the toilet ~ it's super long ~ again, take pics until 1 min before door closed for Act 2! haha..

- Give a good shout during curtain call! BRAVO BRAVO!!

- Went out and take more pics! haha...

- look at the Merchandise ~ i found this necklace (cute huh?)

- Walk off, but came back coz I know I will regret it if I didn't buy it. So I bought it at $20.

- Eat supper and went home

It's a great experience though for us, the three besties! We feel energize after watching this musical. HAHA...but then, something strucked our senses ~~ SHOOT! FriCKIN exams! Grr....

Anyway, I WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN!! Anyone wish to sponsor me and go with me? I welcome you heartily!! HAhaha...
