    Update 1 [Primary School Practicum]

    Update update update!

Yes,havent really been updating my blog.haha..been very very busy lately especially with practicum!

So here's something for a quick update on my practicum in PRimary school!

First week of July [3rd], I went to Mayflower Primary School coz was posted there for school experience. It's a relatively good school. It's clean and give friendly environment. They even have 1 block dedicated to ARTS! whoo..i love that part of the building! =p
Anyway, they are putting a musical which has the drama and music department combined.OH, and also the Malay and Tamil dance. It's really cool.

THere, I went to the best English class I had ever been to! The class was for the Primary 4 students who are considered the weakest in their English. However, the teacher did an extraordinary job in getting the students engaged and interested in learning creative writing in a fun way! So what he did was to give 3 pictures of the setting and what the story is about. However, the students were to develop the story and its conclusion in writings. If these kids' English skill is weak, therefore, their writing would not be good without having to scaffold it first! So the teacher helped the scaffold this task by making it into drama lesson! Amazingly, most of the teaching methodology the teacher use is from my drama course! He's amazing! The kids got to act what they've written too. They are VERY creative!!! They might not be advanced in their academics, but it doesn't mean they are not good in Creativity!

Since I was the only trainee from that batch to be post to MFPS, I had to bear all the boredom alone! But on the first day, 2 nice students from the class I was observing helped me get to the canteen to get JUICE since I was super hungry! haha.. THen they willingly offered a free around-the-school-tour before we get back into to class. They're like my first friends in the school. Too bad that I won't be seeing them again since they'll be graduating after PSLE. Btw, those girls were P6 students. They're like the BEST 2 P6 class in the school.

I find P6E class quite noisy. Though they may be noisy at times, I still think they're nice people. Just that they need more discipline and respect towards their teacher. But then, the whole shcool practised the 'bowing when you see a teacher' habit. I LOVE IT coz I THINK IT'S CUTE AND VERY RESPECTFUL.

I only got to know 2 new friends on the last day! THey're from the Diploma in Education batch. They're nice people too. Went to observe some classes with them as well. The last day was great coz I wasn't bored! GOT FRIENDS! SOMEONE TO TALK TO! [High I person's necessity!]
The drama teachers were actually my seniors in NIE. But they graduated from NIE in dunno when. Quite interesting to know that they're close friends with Stephen Hazell and Charlene Rajendran, my drama tutors.

So basically, my whole impression of Mayflower Primary School was OK. I find it really nice and I don't mind going back there though I had to wake up so early to reach the school at 7.10am. HAHA..
