Unfortunately, he didn't really leave behind a good impression among some of the people of Indonesia. (based on articles and the interview I did with my grandpa)

He was known as the "Father of Development" because of his effort in building up the Indonesian economy, as well as his contribution to the ASEAN economy.

His shameful fall on 1998 draws a big scar on the country's economy and face.

Though his regime ended not on a peaceful note, we Indonesians should remember his contributions and positive efforts in building our nation to be what it is right now, ADVANCE and STILL PROGRESSING!!

Therefore, youngsters who lived during the time of Suharto -- meaning, you were born and grew up during his time -- shall not be too aggressive in criticizing him as we did not really experience Indonesia's 'flourishing' years under his reign.

    But yes, let justice prevails.

I believe that Indonesia WILL progress even more than before in the future.

Whatever happens in the future with his family's bitter trial, let it not be for only one's own benefit but for the best of the NATION!!

    Indonesia Merdeka!!
