    Phantom of the Opera Experience

    Ah, yes, i forgot to update my blog about THE BEST MOMENT DURING EXAM PERIOD!

    very important......


    WOOHOOO~~

    PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

    is like the COOLEST, MOST ELABORATE, SOPHISTICATED, AWESOME, FANTASTIC, and most importantly MY FAVORITE MUSICAL OF ALLLLL TIMES!


    I don't need to tell what the story is about because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't watch it! IT'S A MUST WATCH OK! Not at home with TV and DVD, but in the THEATERS! I mean, GO FOR THE LIVE MUSICAL! I know it's really costly, but hey, IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT!


    The TICKET --

    The SET and COSTUME:


    Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket- I TOTALLY love the chandelier! I want one in my own house! LOL..

    - I love the "Beyond the Lake" scene! WHy? because the whole "lake" effect is SOOOO real! With smoke machine/ dry ice and great lighting, it's enough to make the lake believable!

    - COSTUMING, i must comment on this! This is what makes it elaborate especially in the "Staircase of the Opera House" scene ~ singing "Masquerade"! I totally am in Awe (btw, i did hear a roar of "Whoaaa" throughout the Theater when the curtain opened.)

    The MUSIC:




    - All music is by ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER ~ I'm telling you, I salute him! He's like the greatest composer in the world! I WANT TO SEE HIM! I WANT TO LEARN FROM HIM!
    - Lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe

    - All of the music is wonderful!! The songs are from the soundtrack: Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket



    - "All I Ask of You" is really a romantic song, which I want for my Wedding Day. HAha..
    - "Think of Me" is the song that really shows off the actors' skills.
    - "Phantom of the Opera" is this upbeat and creating tension song.
    - "Angel of Music" is the best song with harmonization.

    - In the theater, it is a live music, of course. The orchestra did a great job especialy the Conductor ~ a LADY! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Something new huh?


    The Actors and Actresses:



    - I must say that they did a JOB WELL DONE! The actress who played Christine Daae, Rebecca Pitcher, is totally commendable! She's gorgeous and CAN sing! I mean, CAN REALLY SING! I love her voice especially in "Think of Me", "All I Ask of You" and "Phantom of the Opera" song. High notes, but she managed to take it flawlessly! Awesome!




    - Now, I totally love the PHANTOM! Oh man! He's like my favorite character! Brad Little did a great job in portraying the emotion as well as showing off his skills in singing. In the "Music of the Night", he managed to pull off the HIGHEST NOTE for guys, and yes, HE DID IT SO WELL! He even crawled and run while singing! He's awesome!



    - My other favorite character will be Carlotta, played by Pauline Du Plessis. Carlotta has a lot of VIBRATO even when she talks. In the play, she's not a local actress. Therefore, you can really hear the accent. It's awesomely DONE! Anyway, Du Plessis did a great job in singing HIGH NOTES WITH VIBRATO. Love it!

    - The rest of the characters are great too. But I must say, the actor who played RAOUL, John Bowles, looks like JIM CARREY! hahaha...random, but true.. Look at this:

    Anyway, everything about this play is PERFECT! I love it! There's like no other words to describe this play except AWESOME, GORGEOUS, SPLENDID and everything NICE!

    The costumes, the lighting, the curtain and music~ all complement each other! TRULY, a MAGNIFICENT SHOW!

    Yes, three of us -- Drama Major Students -- set off to enjoy a break from exam stress to watch PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!

    Just some facts to know:

    - booked the ticket on Januray 24, 2007 (no discount anymore + it's so crowded)


    - decided to buy the tix in Sistic Counter at Raffles City because can't get a good seat Online (luckily we did this. Our seat is the best for all Circle 3 seats coz it's first row and not to side or center. JUST PERFECT!)

    - Amandia drives us to Raffles City ~ thanks babe! =) but, Jonathan was there too. Dunno why..haha...

    - waited for 2 months before last Wednesday finally came!

    - sang the songs from the soundtrack like TONS OF TIMES and EVERYWHERE we could

    - can't sleep before THE DAY (at least, that's me..hehe..too excited!)

    - ate dinner at Marina Square Sakae Sushi before the Show

    - Amandia forgot to wear something nice (she's on berms n tees)

    - rushed off to buy something nice for Amandia to wear ~ landed on this place across S&K in MArina Square (forgot the name!).

    - bought a coat dress at $49+ and wear it at that point ~ forgot that the sandals and backpack is still there. hahaha...

    - Rushed off to Esplanade, bought the Program Book at $25 and took our seat ~ take lots of pics too

    - During Intermission, went to queue for the toilet ~ it's super long ~ again, take pics until 1 min before door closed for Act 2! haha..

    - Give a good shout during curtain call! BRAVO BRAVO!!

    - Went out and take more pics! haha...

    - look at the Merchandise ~ i found this necklace (cute huh?)

    - Walk off, but came back coz I know I will regret it if I didn't buy it. So I bought it at $20.

    - Eat supper and went home


    It's a great experience though for us, the three besties! We feel energize after watching this musical. HAHA...but then, something strucked our senses ~~ SHOOT! FriCKIN exams! Grr....

    Anyway, I WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN!! Anyone wish to sponsor me and go with me? I welcome you heartily!! HAhaha...
