    MAD FOREST FEVER!

    MAD FOREST PERFORMANCE
    Friday, Oct 27. 2006 at 11AM
    Nanyang Playhouse (NIE)
    Director: Stephen Hazell

Here are some of my lines...

My name is Valentina Barbat. I am a painter. I hope to go to the Art Institute. I like to paint horses. Other things too, but I like horses. On December 20, my boyfriend got a call. Go to the Palace Square. People there were wearing black armbands for Timisoara. There were plenty of people, but no courage. Nothing happen that day, so we went home.

When we heard shooting, we went out. We stayed near the Intercontinental Hotel till nearly midnight. I had an empty soul. I didn't know who I was.

I saw a tank drive into the crowd. A man's head was crushed! When people are killed like that, more people came in front of the tank.

It's enough to see one person dead to get an empty of feeling.

That night, the terror shooting started.

They are asking on TV for people to defend the TV station. My boyfriend and I go out. We stop a truck of young people and ask them where they're going. ' We are going to die!" They say it like that. We can do nothing there. Eveyone knows it.

My boyfriend and I were at the TV station. I didn't know who we were fighting with or how bad it was! I was just acting to save our lives. It is terrible to hate and not to be able to do something real.

I was with my boyfriend so I felt I should be confident. I was curious to know what I would feel in difficult moments.

I saw a man shot in the throat! Some people couldn't loo, but I was staring, trying not to forget. I had an insane curiosity. It was like an abbatoir. He was like an animal dying with no chance. He had an expression of confusedness. It is incredible he had so much blood. I felt empty.

Painting doesn't mean just describing, it's the state of spirit. I did not want to paint for long time then.
